August Rush: Sequins and Leather skirt
Hello loves,
It feels like this month just flew by. Can't remember a shorter August.
For me, the end of August always comes with a sense of melancholy since it marks the beginning of the end of summer. Since I live in Michigan, I bet you can imagine why. However, there are things to look forward to such as my birthday, which is tomorrow, the blog- anniversary and those beautiful Fall colors.
Before we say goodbye to summer. I wanted to take this cute leather skirt for a spin. I've had it for months and never got to wear it. I think there is something very powerful yet feminine about pink leather. Best of both worlds I say.

Black Leather Dress and Silver Tones
Hello Guys,
Hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving holiday. For those of you who do not live in the US, I hope your weekend was delightful.
On Saturday, I went to a fundraiser for National kidney Foundation/ launch of the "Relationship Collection", a new nail polish line. (More details on that soon). This is what I intended to wear but unfortunately made a few changes at the last minute. I wanted wanted to do something a little different with a black leather dress. So I played with silver and black tones, adding a fun belt to accentuate the low waist line. As usual, I couldn't resist adding a white jacket because I am such a fan of mixing black and white tones in an outfit. They almost always turn out looking chic, regardless of the season. Absolutely no fear wearing white in the fall/ winter months for this girl. Be daring and wear your whites this winter, perhaps even a monochromatic look.

Cutout Shooties and Floral Cutout Top
"All the pretty colors!"
"All the pretty colors". That's what my dazed brain thought before I remembered it was only the first week of November. At the time, I had been at one of the stores I frequently go to for some shopping, and all the holiday decorations were out already! Wasn't Halloween a little over a week ago?Is it just me, or does it feel like it's a little too soon. We haven't even had thanksgiving yet!
Not that I am complaining (ok, maybe a little). It just feels like we would be saying goodbye to another year way too soon; but on a positive note, I love the holiday season.
Speaking of colors. I resisted the urge to tuck in this colorful top; instead, I let it fall and flow with the slightly flared shape of the skirt. I added a skinny belt for some definition. And, of course the shooties from my previous post "booties to fall for", which I'm in love with. Hit or miss? Let me know what you think.

Je T'aime: Black N White
Here is something a little different than what I usually wear.
A fun skirt with "bold" words in every sense of the word (Je t'aime means I love you); which I got for a steal from F21.
When trying out a new trend, I start out with a very affordable piece (a cheapy, if I may), just in case it doesn't work out. Forever 21 is my go -to for that.
This fall, the black and white trend is still in. Play with some black and white in different textures, or colors grey and white. Just make it your own and have fun with it.

Animal Instinct: Leopard & Leather
Grudgingly, I am beginning to acknowledge that fall is here; but since it's still warm I started incorporating fall trends into my outfits by wearing simple layers like this.
For me, wearing leopard prints can border on tacky when overdone, so I try to keep them as simple and uncluttered as possible. Since leopard prints are great statement pieces, when styling an outfit, I would either use a piece as the main focus of an outfit, or as an accent to an outfit. Never both.
Here, I kept my jewelery to a minimum and threw on a light leather vest to complete the look.

Rogue Revival
Finally, got my head out of the sands to blog! It's been a busy couple of weeks but I'll spare you the boring details.
This outfit features the leather trend that exploded last year, and most of us have come to love. Good news-the trend is here to stay. The new found versatility of leather with it's different silhouettes and colors, is what I like the most about the trend. It's no longer limited to its old tight, restrictive forms but now showcases an array of flattering pieces that fits almost any style. Almost any kind of clothing comes in leather from dresses to coats, you name it.
I added structure to the leather-like feminine shaped skirt with a structured zipper Jacket that I discovered last fall (which i simply love). Haven't gotten the chance to wear it in forever, so I revived them from the depths of my closet in the spirits of fall.

The shoes, where do I start? I tried and tried to resist the urge to get them because I kept seeing them everywhere but I gave in. I simply adore these heels.
The tote from the Phillip Lim forTarget collection is perfection. I know I will get a lot of wear out of this. What did you get?
