Hello Guys,
Just a quick hello before the weekend begins. It feels like the longest week ever, so I can't wait for the weekend.
This post features one of my steals from Macy's. Spent less than $10. Yay Sale! As we reach the last months of summer, lots of stores have end of summer sales and we get the urge to buy, buy, buy. The trick is figuring out what you can still wear into the winter and maybe even next summer as well, to get more bang for your buck.

Independence in Structure: Red, White and Blue

Hey Guys!

It's the 4th of July and I cannot help but think about "Independence"- this great Country's Independence and especially our own personal Independence. To most, this may mean a whole lot of different things depending on one's life journey. When I was a kid, it meant taking walks by myself. As a teenager, picking out my own outfits.

This magic word means even more to me now than ever- Reaching my goals and being truly free. Today, my wish for us all is to find that ultimate happiness, whatever that might be and to be truly free.

About the look

Using structure and statement pieces, I Incorporated "red, white and blue" to create a classy chic look appropriate for the festivities but without looking like a costume.

Date night: White Blouse and Skater Skirt

Hey Guys
Here is a simple idea for a date night. A cute flirty skirt with a white blouse. The skirt is a mini and can border on "too sexy". However, the satin texture of the blouse adds a tops of chicness to this outfit which balances it out.
I am very fond of skirts this season, mostly because of the variety of silhouettes, lengths and textures that you can experiment with. Regardless of your shape and shape, there is a fun skirt out there which you can totally make your own. Which style are you loving this season?

Sunkissed: Crop Top and Midi Skirt

Hello loves,
I have to admit there is a certain thrill I get from purchasing a cute item for next to nothing. I think that feeling is quite comparable to the excitement I would get from purchasing a trendy expensive Label. Personally speaking, one of the numerous reasons I love fashion and why I blog is because of the challenge of finding that great deal. You would be surprised at the amount I have paid for some of the items in my closest. For example the purse in this post was a whooping $10 from DSW. I was laughing my way out of the store. I think smart shopping and spending within your means is so important. Do you?

Today's post features a midi skirt and the ever so popular crop top. I've had reservations in the past about wearing a midi skirt since I am so petite, but I have decided to embrace this trend.
Hints:

Midi skirts look superb with heels - Always!

If you are shortie like me, a hem line that hits just below the knee is very flattering. If you are taller, you can rock almost any length. Almost!

Streamline your look, pair the midi skirt with a fitted top to emphasize your waist line.

Top off with a leather Jacket for some edge and to toughen the look or a blazer for a classic clean look!
Mix different textures.
Most importantly, have Fun with it!

Simplicity in Floral

Florals, florals, florals. I am totally loving this trend. This is funny to those who really know me because there was actually a time when I would never be caught in bright colors or even in dresses. I will save that story for another time.

Since the floral trend made its comeback last Spring I have been intrigued and pleasantly surprised that it can be styled in different ways from casual looks to boohoo chic to office chic without looking gaudy.

This look is simple yet clsssy. I let the floral dress take center stage yet perfectly complimented by the gorgeous delicate nude shoes. These artfully created shoes are a shoe lover's dream. The fact that they are so comfortable is merely the icing on the cake.

I also kept my jewelry to a minimum and opted for a structured bag for the extra chic vibe.

Lacy Details:: Lace Maxi and Orange Blazer

Hello Darlings,
I had the pleasure of going to my adorable nephew's Christening a few days ago and it was really great to spend time with the family. It was a windy day, perfect for a maxi dress. The sheer lace details are definitely my favorite elements of this dress. It adds a little something special to what would have been a plain maxi dress.

Sheer Lace details always manage to add a touch of sensuality and femininity to an outfit. The trick is knowing how much and what part of the body is been exposed. Lets not forget to keep it classy =)

The Lace trend is not going anywhere soon and I can't get enough of it. I will be indulging in this trend all season long. To add some feeling of Spring and cheerfulness, I opted for a pop of color with an orange blazer and Pumps...Let me know what you think.
